At our
September meeting we discussed
several items for both organizations.
Under PTO news we discussed the Fall Festival. This event will be held October 24th from
5:00-8:00 PM. If you are willing to work
and have not signed up please call Melissa Smith at 618-231-1272. The teachers also selected their theme for
the basket raffle. The baskets will be
raffled
off at the end of the night of the Fall Festival. For
our new parents, this is a fun raffle
which is supported by you. Each homeroom
teacher will have a basket and we ask for donations to match their
theme. If you are unsure of your
child’s classroom
theme this information can be found on our school website under PTO
news. The PTO also asked each teacher to
create a
“wish list” of items for their classroom.
We were able to approve the following items: a new listening center for Mrs. Franklin; a
new series of literature for a Holocaust unit for both Mrs. Anderson
and Mrs.
Docherty; and new stop watches for our P.E. teacher.
Thanks to all of the parents who help support
our fundraisers because of you we are able to help our teachers enrich
our
student’s education. The PTO will
also
be having a pizza fundraiser that will begin October 20th.
Please sign the permission if you are willing
to allow your child to participate in this event.
Under Booster Club News we
discussed the Summersville Shoot-out scheduled of November 12th, 13th
and
14th. This will consist of 18 games so
lots of volunteers will be needed to work the door, concession, and
hospitality. The Booster Club voted to
get a hot dog machine in the concession stand, new white boards for the
locker
rooms, and new items for the score board.
Our next meeting will be October 14th at 6:00
PM in the cafeteria. This is a great way
to meet new friends and
be involved with your child’s school activities.
